About Me

Hi, I’m Randi.  I currently reside in Midland, Michigan with my amazing husband.  After a few years as an amateur photographer, I have decided to take the next steps in following my passion.  I am currently building my portfolio and am always open to new experiences and shoots.

Photography has always been a passion of mine.  From my first Polaroid camera at age 10, I have loved capturing the randomness life throws at us.  I have no qualms about admitting that I am a self made photographer, taking photos of anything that evokes emotion.  My philosophy is a little different in comparison to most photographers, in that I strive to use my gear to its fullest potential… I do not like photoshop or obviously photoshopped images.  Sure, minor editing is always needed, but I feel that beautiful photos can be taken by learning how to use your camera.  I love my Nikon and have a few lenses and accessories, but I like to keep things simple, and as you can see, beautiful photography can be captured with simplicity.

I am a PhD analytical chemist who loves creating memories for my friends and family, and am currently looking to expand my horizons and accept new clients.  Photography is the medium that allows me to show the world from my perspective and to discover how others see it as well. My passion for photography and chemistry is how my husband developed my logo, a camera with a bubbling flask, and my tagline, “Capturing life’s chemistry one reaction at a time.” Its a perfect fit for my photography style… capturing the interactions and chemistry found within family dynamics. It makes me smile, and often times, makes others smile as well.  My primary focus and specialty is family photography, including newborns, children, pets, and events.  Families are the perfect subject and I love every moment spent with them.  Pets and children have amazing expression in their faces, they just require a bit of patience and luck.  I’ve photographed everything from a wedding reception to newborns and anything in between… basically anything that people ask of me.
